I truly believe Murray ends up at Georgetown because of his connection to LSU assistants he committed already that got job for Patrick Ewing. And it’s closer to home. Being from Baltimore area. Illinois will get a visit by tommorow afternoon I’m hearing. Chester Frazier has done a great job with him but it can’t hurt to throw one final amazing pitch. Expect Georgetown with him.

I know Bryce Hopkins and family have interest in Illinois. Was just a matter of time before he entered the portal as he did so this morning. Wasted away one year in Lexington. I think if illinois somehow misses out on Shannon which I feel 90% sure he comes. Hopkins could be a really good backup plan. Things should be moving with him in the next couple weeks…TSJ

Adam Miller will be a guy they look at as well if Shannon were to fall through. Also same timeline for Skyy Clark as I mentioned two days ago. He will be an illini by April 19th. Have a feeling it will be way sooner 😉

Good stuff Ryan. How would Hopkins look at us as a great place for PT though? Would seem a little crowded in his area-- unless it just boils down to him thinking he can muscle his way in.

Here is my best assumption off of everything I’ve gathered.

LSU transfer Brandon Murray is pretty much a Georgetown lock. He’s visiting today but staff thinks it’s a courtesy visit and no matter what they do nothing will change but you never know. Staff will obviously try but don’t see it happening. His LSU bag man is at Georgetown now so that’s why… Their goal is to get Kofi to announce he’s back and land Terrence Shannon within the next 7-10 days. Then after that they want to add Courtney Ramey (Texas transfer and Veteran PG). If Shannon somehow doesn’t happen they will be going after Bryce Hopkins who had Illinois Providence Kentucky in his top 3 last year and chose Kentucky and hit the portal yesterday. Former top 50 player from Chicago. They are confident they will land either or.

Wouldn't the big question for Hopkins be playing time? That's the one issue I have with thinking we'd either truly want him or he'd want to come here....Let's hope you're right and we grab one of Shannon or Ramey which would really solidify next year....along with Kofi of course!
